The program committee is very excited to announce the venue for our March,

POINT and SHOOT, Safari.

Members: PLEASE ATTEND!

We will meet Saturday, March 13^th, at 8:45 am at the topside entrance to Penny’s in the Bristol Mall. This is the entrance going in to the children’s section. The theme with be Product Photography!

Here is a current list of the stores that has given us permission so far:

1. JC Penny’s Clothing Store

2. Surf/Dirt Store

3. Misty Mountain Clothing Store

4. DEBs Clothing Store

Here are the rules for the Point and Shoot:

1. The purpose of using a Point and Shoot camera is to return to the basics…

2. Please shoot with your Point and Shoot camera set on Automatic

3. Try not to tip the scales in your direction by fudging and changing expert settings on your camera.

4. You may bring a tripod, light, or other equipment if you like.

5. Please bring one 8x10 photo taken with your Point and Shoot to the next meeting in April.

6. These photos will be used as learning tools for the Lecture: Preparing for Photo Contests

7. You may bring a extra SLR but photos taken with an SLR are not eligible for April’s meeting.

There are some rules from the Mall Management and Merchants Association that we will need to follow.

1. Photos are to be only taken inside of the store that has given us permission.

2. Do NOT take photos of any people, anywhere on Mall property.

a. This includes any friends that you may see

b. This includes members of the club

3. Do NOT take photos in the Mall Hallways or Parking Lot.

4. Photos are not to be used for internet or any commercial purpose.

Saturday, March 13, 2010	Safari: Point and Shoot Only! Lead: Bill Bryant and Mark Marquette Use Point and Shoot Cameras Only! You may bring your SLR but try and use the PS mostly, Use Auto Settings Please, let us all participate and try and stick to the rules. Let’s have some fun. This Safari is designed to/for: • Level the Playing Field • Re-ignite the Photography Passion from which we all began • Re-learn some principles from the ground up • Review what you know • Practice Composition • Fellowship and Helping One Another Grow! Everyone will be asked to print their very best photo (1 only) to enter into a mock contest held on April 6th at our next Meeting. Professional Photographer Claude Kelly will judge and lecture on “Preparing for the Upcoming Photo Contest Season!”	Outside of Penny's department store, Bristol Mall at 8:45 am. We will enter in a the children's entrance. We will have the store to ourselves for 1 hours. Don't forget your TCPC photo ID.
Saturday, April 17, 2010	Safari Title: Blue Ridge Parkway Tour Lead: Chris Duncan and Stephanie Wagner Time: TBA Specific Directions: TBA, there will be a fee split between the participants for Van Rental (25.00 per person) and Gas; Bring backup batteries, photo cards, tripods, lens filters, etc. Let’s have a blast!	Blue Ridge Parkway Tour Tentative Plans are: Travel from Bristol through Elizabethton to Little Switzerland on the Blue Ridge. Visit Crabtee Falls near Little Switzerland – great waterfall!! Proceed North on Blue Ridge looking for vistas and wild flowers Next stop would be Linville Falls Next stop could be Grandfather Mountain if we wanted to do that. Should be captive wildlife there if we want to mix it up Next stop would be Blowing Rock. There are a few falls around there near downtown. Next stop could be Elk River Falls on the way back Proceed home from there
